Summer Camp Bus Riding Policy
At Berwick, the safety and well-being of our campers are our top priorities. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable ride for everyone, all campers must follow the guidelines below while riding the bus. On the first day of camp, we will send an extra staff to help your child get acclimated to the ride.

General Expectations

  1. Respect the Driver & Staff: Campers must follow all instructions from the bus driver and camp staff at all times.
  2. Stay Seated: Campers must remain seated with seatbelts (if available) fastened while the bus is in motion.
  3. Keep Hands & Belongings Inside: Windows may only be opened with permission, and hands, arms, or any objects should never extend outside the bus.
  4. Use Inside Voices: Loud noises and disruptive behavior can distract the driver and create unsafe conditions.
  5. No Food or Drinks: To maintain cleanliness and prevent choking hazards, eating and drinking are not allowed on the bus.
  6. Respect Fellow Riders: Bullying, roughhousing, or inappropriate language will not be tolerated.
  7. Personal Belongings: Campers are responsible for keeping track of their items. The camp is not responsible for lost belongings.
  8. No Littering: Campers must take all their belongings and dispose of any trash properly when exiting the bus.

Boarding & Drop-Off Procedures

  • Campers should arrive 5 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Buses will not wait for late arrivals.
  • Parents/guardians must be present for pick-up unless prior arrangements have been made with camp staff.
  • Only authorized individuals may pick up a camper. Any changes to authorized pick-ups must be communicated in writing.

Behavior & Consequences

  • First Warning: Verbal reminder from staff.
  • Second Warning: Parent/guardian notification.
  • Continued Misbehavior: Loss of bus privileges for a determined period or removal from bus transportation.
By following these guidelines, we can ensure a safe and fun experience for all campers. Thank you for your cooperation!
