Visiting Artist Reception: Jozimar Matimano
Berwick Academy is delighted to welcome Jozimar Matimano as a visiting artist this spring. Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo and now residing in Manchester, NH, Matimano is known for his striking large-scale oil paintings. We were first introduced to his work last spring when then-senior Ella Martin interviewed him for a pinnacle English class project. His artwork has been exhibited regionally, including recent shows at Proctor Academy and the Seacoast African American Museum in Portsmouth.On Friday, March 28, 2025, Jozimar will visit classes and give a presentation to upper school students. We encourage students and families to stop by the Jackson Library Gallery that day to view his stunning exhibition and meet the artist in person.Exhibition Dates: February 24 – April 11, 2025
Location: Jackson Library Gallery (open during library hours)
Art Reception: Open to the public, Friday, March 28, 3:30–5:00 PM
