Trailblazers is Berwick Academy’s premier outdoor adventure camp for grades 4-8, designed to inspire thrilling exploration, hands-on learning, and leadership development beyond traditional summer programs. Nestled on our expansive 80-acre campus, this immersive experience blends outdoor challenges, ecology lessons, and essential survival skills to foster confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of nature.
This holistic program encourages campers to develop outdoor proficiency while understanding the interconnected beauty of natural systems. Through activities like hiking scenic trails, creating nature-inspired art, mastering survival techniques, and engaging in real-world conservation projects, campers deepen their appreciation for the environment. Teamwork and leadership are at the core of Trailblazers, with nature-integrated challenges such as the “Crossing the River” teamwork course, navigation challenges, and survival-based problem-solving experiences.
Guided by expert instructors, campers will navigate wilderness challenges, study local ecosystems, and embark on adventure-based field trips that expand their understanding of the natural world. Off-site excursions include rock climbing, ecosystem exploration at local preserves, and outdoor adventures at Mount Agamenticus, York Cliffs, and other hidden gems—giving campers hands-on experience in some of the region’s most stunning landscapes.
Designed for all skill levels, Trailblazers balances adventure with a supportive indoor base camp where campers prepare, reflect, and connect before setting off on new challenges. It’s the perfect program for kids eager to push their limits, develop essential outdoor skills, and cultivate leadership—all while forming lasting friendships and embracing the true spirit of adventure.
