This program includes exciting adventure-based field trips, all covered within the program fee. Once campers arrive on campus, Berwick Academy handles all transportation, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience for families.

Cost: $450/week 
AfterCare Available:
Please add on AfterCare at during the registration process if you wish to extend your child's camp day to 5pm
Transportation Available: Pick-up and drop-off locations in Exeter, Portsmouth, Kittery, & York. Add a weekly transportation pass during registration to access our transportation offering.

Trailblazers is Berwick Academy’s premier outdoor adventure camp for grades 4-8, designed to inspire thrilling exploration, hands-on learning, and leadership development beyond traditional summer programs. Nestled on our expansive 80-acre campus, this immersive experience blends outdoor challenges, ecology lessons, and essential survival skills to foster confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of nature.

This holistic program encourages campers to develop outdoor proficiency while understanding the interconnected beauty of natural systems. Through activities like hiking scenic trails, creating nature-inspired art, mastering survival techniques, and engaging in real-world conservation projects, campers deepen their appreciation for the environment. Teamwork and leadership are at the core of Trailblazers, with nature-integrated challenges such as the “Crossing the River” teamwork course, navigation challenges, and survival-based problem-solving experiences.

Guided by expert instructors, campers will navigate wilderness challenges, study local ecosystems, and embark on adventure-based field trips that expand their understanding of the natural world. Off-site excursions include rock climbing, ecosystem exploration at local preserves, and outdoor adventures at Mount Agamenticus, York Cliffs, and other hidden gems—giving campers hands-on experience in some of the region’s most stunning landscapes.

Designed for all skill levels, Trailblazers balances adventure with a supportive indoor base camp where campers prepare, reflect, and connect before setting off on new challenges. It’s the perfect program for kids eager to push their limits, develop essential outdoor skills, and cultivate leadership—all while forming lasting friendships and embracing the true spirit of adventure.

Designed for campers in grades 4-8, this unique outdoor education and adventure program transforms Berwick Academy’s 80-acre campus and beyond into a hands-on exploration of ecology, survival skills, general outdoor skills, team-building, and adventure-based field trips.

From wilderness navigation and wildlife tracking to conservation projects and outdoor art, each day offers new challenges that build confidence, resilience, and leadership. Campers will deepen their connection to nature while developing practical outdoor skills, learning teamwork, and forging friendships through shared experiences.

Program Highlights:

Survival Skills & Wilderness Training – Learn fire-building, shelter construction, orienteering, and foraging while gaining practical outdoor knowledge.
Ecology & Conservation Projects – Study local ecosystems, participate in hands-on environmental initiatives, and contribute to sustainability efforts.
Adventure-Based Field Trips – Explore state parks, coastal preserves, rivers, and hiking trails in our weekly off-campus excursions.
