Join The Ecology School, in partnership with Berwick Academy, for an immersive overnight camp where nature becomes your classroom! Explore ecology, sustainability, and outdoor adventure through hands-on learning, all while connecting with the environment in a fun and engaging way.
For campers looking to connect to the outdoors, make connections with old and new camper friends, and build skills to become leaders in Maine’s youth climate movement, this camp week is for you! Campers will learn about the world outside their door through hands-on field ecology exploration while living and learning on The Ecology School’s River Bend Farm campus, designed to meet exemplary sustainability and energy efficiency standards. Campers will have an opportunity to meet and learn from Maine’s current leaders in the climate movement.  Campers will also participate in our classic camp activities, from canoeing and arts and crafts to forest exploration and assembly campfire at night. Participants will stay in modern dormitories with Ecology School educators serving as counselors. Housing accommodations include options for same-gender or gender-inclusive living arrangements to foster a safe and inclusive environment. Meals are community-focused and homemade, with snacks available throughout the day. To encourage connection and independence, campers are not permitted to bring cell phones or connected devices.
