Berwick’s Pre-Kindergarten program is based on a blend of social-emotional programming, project approach learning, outdoor classroom initiatives and homeroom / special subject instruction, with the ultimate goal of developing a respectful and responsible community through exploration and discovery. The Pre-K emergent curriculum approach is designed to be a half-day program with an extended day option and serves both three and four year olds. Qualified candidates will have experience working within an early childhood setting, will have demonstrated the ability to foster positive relationships with students and families and will have a strong interest in collaboration with colleagues, including during outdoor classroom endeavors.   • Faculty: Upper School History Teacher (One Year Interim)

    Berwick Academy, a PK-12 coeducational day school located in Southern Maine, seeks a History teacher to join our Upper School Faculty for the 2025-2026 school year in an interim role.   • Staff: Assistant/Associate Director of Admission for Upper School

    Join Berwick Academy as our Associate Director of Admission! Lead our dynamic and collaborative team in recruiting and enrolling diverse and engaged students in Grades 9-12 and Post-Graduate. Drive personalized and high-touch experiences for families, ensuring unforgettable journeys through our admission process. Collaborate closely with the enrollment and divisional teams to achieve our enrollment goals. Your role is pivotal, overseeing recruitment, managing admissions, ensuring strong student retention and fostering relationships with key influencers and prospective families.

    Responsibilities:
    • Lead new student recruitment and enrollment for Grades 9-12 and PG, managing recruitment, interviews, testing, and enrollment processes
    • Recruit and train student tour guides in our Blue Key program
    • Represent Berwick at school fairs and nurture feeder school relationships, including travel to target markets
    • Partner with athletics, arts, academic, and innovation departments to create personalized admission experiences for applicants
    • Lead the Upper School Admission Committee, evaluating applications and shaping enrollment strategy
    • Drive strategy and collaborate with students, faculty and parents on retention and transition plans from Middle to Upper School and collaborate with the Upper School retention team
    • Collaborate with the team to design a targeted strategy to recruit students that can strengthen our athletics program
    • Partner with key stakeholders to build a pipeline, recruit, and enroll Berwick boarding students
    • Work in collaboration with the Flexible Tuition team to assist families through the Flexible Tuition process from inquiry to enrollment
    • Undertake special projects including market research and website enhancements
    • Contribute to branding, marketing strategies, and social media campaigns
    • Support Pre-K through Grade 8 admission efforts as needed
    Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of admission experience in an academic setting
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and technical proficiency

    Berwick Academy is excited to welcome a licensed Day Camp Nurse (or a team of two part-time nurses) to support our vibrant and joyful summer community. This position is essential in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our day campers, who range in age from 4 to 18, across our beautiful 80+ acre campus.

    About the Role
    This is a day camp nurse position—there are no overnight responsibilities. You will provide on-site health care, medication administration, first aid, and health record oversight for campers and staff during the regular camp day. You'll serve as a key health advocate, supporting camper well-being in both proactive and responsive ways.

    Camp Dates: June 16 – August 15, 2025
    Camp Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (arrival at 8:30 AM on Mondays)
    Note: Camp is in session on June 19 and July 4.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Deliver first aid and oversee safe medication administration
    • Maintain confidential camper health records and daily logs
    • Monitor camper health concerns and coordinate with families as needed
    • Assist in health screenings and assess medical histories upon arrival
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and regulation-compliant health center
    • Travel across campus via golf cart to provide timely support
    • Collaborate with the camp leadership team to review health policies and practices
    • Participate in staff orientation and mid-season check-ins
    What We’re Looking For
    • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), licensed in Maine
    • Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or youth settings preferred
    • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
    • Excellent communication skills with children and adults
    • Organized, flexible, calm under pressure, and comfortable working independently
    • Willingness to drive a golf cart across campus as needed
    Compensation & Benefits
    • This is an hourly paid position; the rate will be based on experience and qualifications.
    • Compensation may be adjusted depending on benefit access such as on-campus childcare and housing options.
    • Weekly hours are approximately 35 for full-time or can be divided for part-time coverage.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all parts of the Flexible Tuition process for both new and returning families:
      • Create and schedule all process and timeline communications for all families.
      • Educate families on the benefits of Flexible Tuition and the application process.
      • Manage the Clarity financial aid application process and work with families to meet deadlines.
      • Process and review all applications in Clarity and partner with families to ensure their applications are complete.
      • Oversee all aspects of the Flexible Tuition committee. 
      • Maintain all information and records in the Clarity, OnBoard, and Google spreadsheets.
    • Collaborate with families throughout the Flexible Tuition process. 
    • Stay current on all financial aid best practices and attend professional development conferences.
    • Undertake special projects including market research and website enhancements
    • Contribute to branding, marketing strategies, and social media campaigns
    • Support Pre-K through Grade 12 admission efforts as needed, meeting with families, assisting with events and traveling to feeder schools.
       
    Qualifications: 
    • 5+ years of admission and financial aid experience in an academic setting
    • Expertise in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel; Experience with OnBoard and Clarity software preferred

  • Teaching Apprentices

    Berwick Academy's Teaching Apprentice Program (TAP) offers a purposeful blend of hands-on teaching experiences and graduate courses, resulting in a M.Ed. from Lesley University. Each TA works full time under the guidance of experienced Berwick mentors for an entire academic year while taking Lesley courses. Our apprentices develop the knowledge and skills essential for successful teaching while earning legitimate work experience at one of New England’s finest independent schools. The program will begin in June, and is open to aspiring educators.

    • Lower School (Prek - Grade 4) - Self contained classrooms
    • Middle School (Grades 5 - 8)  - Sections in Humanities, Math, English, History, Science, Art, Spanish
