Berwick Wins with 1-0 Forfeit

Coach Strebel
4/16

Cocheco could not field a goalie for the lacrosse game but thankfully to Naishe Linde and Ian Cooke the game went on as scheduled.  The duo were planning on playing Goalie for the Berwick squad, splitting the game with 2 quarters a piece.  Instead upon the request of the Cocheco Coach and the approval of Coach Strebel they each played 2 quarters for each team.

It was the first competitive lacrosse game for several of the Berwick players.  Each ready and eager to learn on the fly. Berwick played a tough game and the score remained 0-0 after the first quarter.  As the second quarter progressed Cocheco's experience showed and they were able to put a goal away against Cooke.  The score was 1-0 at the end of the half.

The second half started up and Berwick again was able to make the quarter a draw.  Going into the last 8 minutes of play Berwick was still down one goal and after a restart whistle Cocheco was able to add another tally against Linde.

The game ended in regulation with Cocheco with the aide of Cooke and Linde were on top 2-0.

The game was a great learning experience for the Berwick team and they look forward to the rematch they have with Cocheco later in the schedule.
