Award-winning poet, Naomi Shihab Nye, is featured in this year's third annual celebration of poetry at Berwick Academy. Student poets and musicians join this treasured poet and teacher as she explores love of place, family, and story.
Nye was born to a Palestinian father and an American mother and grew up in St. Louis, Jerusalem, and San Antonio.
A self-described "wandering poet," Nye travels the country and the world leading writing workshops and inspiring students of all ages. Whether riding on a bus in Oklahoma, smelling a fig tree, sharing the world of bees, toasting at a cafe in Nablus, or journeying with children, she takes us with her.
